If you happen to take the road connecting the Churchgate station to Marine Drive, you just cannot miss these 'masterpieces' adorning the North pavement. There have a been a few times in my life where I feel somethings are anything but logical. This is one such. Using punchwords like streetart & commemorative signatures, the people who commissioned this bizzare addition to the streetscape have chokeslammed the city's creative sensibilites. I still remember the horrendous concrete lollipop-like billboards, flanking the Western Express highway in the early 90's (finds mention in Tavleen Singh's 'Lollipop Street'). I was repulsed in the exact same manner then although my reactions were more muted then, as a schoolboy. Something that completely defeats its purpose, murders the cityscape, immature in content & expression should be shot down before the general public is subjected to this molestation of creativity. As a common citizen i have nothing against the artist (if there is one) & his expression. But thumbs down to the people commissioning such content. Hope they realise that theres superb talent out there in the city who can do tremendous justice boosting the citys AQ*. In the meantime we should all find comfort by forcing ourselves to believe that these sweet creatures were supposed to be planted in some childrens play area but just ended up at the wrong address. Now wheres that delivery dude!!?? Catch him!!!!

*AQ - abbre Artistic Quotient is something I choose to describe the ability of the mind to receive any creative expression. Everyone of us has it in generous proportions but tuned to varying frequencies.
