Mumbai under siege

Last 48 hours have been the most difficult for our city & country. What has been happening here is nothing but a full blown war. As the security forces battle on tirelessly to reclaim Hotel Taj, I felt I should share my angst with my countrymen.

- When we know our country is a so vulnerable to this disease called terror, why are we always woefully unprepared to combat it?

- National & State Intelligence is our 'Vaccine' against this disease. When we now know all agenices are equally impotent, why cant the 'antibiotics' be powerful enough to kill the disese swiftly?

- If our worthless leadership is incapable (or purposefully unwilling) at building harmony & national pride amongst the misled section of our society who become a medium for terror, why are they still staying elected. Forget recession, inflation, regional disputes. All financial experts out there will agree with me that to build a strong economy it is imperative that we have a strong national security.

- Shouldnt the State government be held accountable for the death of all the police officers? To put men with ancient weaponary & without adequate protection into a hail of bullets is nothing but murder. Have we citizens ever stopped the home ministry from modernizing the police force? Then who is stopping them??

- Why cant the metros have their own swift response squads, ready to deploy anywhere in the city in a matter of minutes? Are Kevlar suits, latest automatic weapons, hi-tech equipments so expensive, that we cant turn our remarkable brave officers into a deadly fighting force? Our police has never fallen short of courage, it falls woefully short of necessary equipment & stoic political will.

- Why cant we have disaster management manuals, training centers, action plans for citizens when something like this happens. We cant control what life & lousy world politics throws at us, we can definately control our response.

- Let us all , enraged by this attack on our home, pledge to not let this fade away ever. God save our country if we ever allow this to pass as just another terrorist strike. In the forthcoming elections State & National Security should be the one & only agenda. And all bungling oafs MUST BE KICKED OUT!!!

- Let us all channelize our frustration & angst into a positive force, spread out and do our bit to keep this flame burning bright. We cannot let the sacrifice of people, who have laid down their lives, go in vain. We cant wait for terror to keep striking our home with a heavier hand everytime.

- Let us put relentless presure on our lawmakers to come down with an iron fist on traitors in our country who directly or indirectly support anti national activites. We definately dont want to see incompetant leaders who have no political will & do nothing to heal frayed public spirit in times of crisis, only vomiting dreadfully banal statements when we dont need to hear them.

- Let us not be consumed by internal differences, communal & regional bullying. The Commandos who are fighting in Mumbai come from all over India. There is not a single public address by our local leaders who 'care' about Mumbai. Maybe for them this problem will not fetch them enough political mileage. - Let us all pray for those martyrs, & vow not to compromise the safety of our country by letting this pass. Henceforth let us not rest till our leaders have potent solutions to this ever growing menace.

Stay strong, stay safe.

JAI HIND!!!
